Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Rose Bay.

Send It Socks was quick to begin.

Nova's Girl and Cookie Deeds collided soon after the start.  Joe Baker and Amelie Otis collided soon after the start.  Cookie Deeds and Rockstar Haynes collided approaching the first turn, checking Rockstar Haynes.  Cookie Deeds and Amelie Otis collided on the first turn; checking Cookie Deeds, which lost ground.  Rockstar Haynes checked off Cookie Deeds approaching the home turn.  Amelie Otis and Nova's Girl collided entering the home straight.  Cawbourne Gout marred Joe Baker in the home straight.

Cookie Deeds underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 10.  Cookie Deeds was found to have an abrasion to the left foreleg.  No stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Andrew Graham, the trainer of Cookie Deeds regarding the greyhound's performance in this event.  In accordance with GAR 75(1), the Stewards requested Mr Graham to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Cookie Deeds in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.

Cawbourne Gout underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left foreleg shoulder joint and wrist injuries, and spike wounds to the head, right foreleg, left and right hindlegs.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Ms Tahlia Hodge, the representative of Cawbourne Gout regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Cawbourne Gout was charged with marring.  Ms Hodge pleaded guilty to the charge, Cawbourne Gout was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Send It Socks - the winner of the event.

Supplementary Report 11.01.2022:

Trainer Mr A Graham reported to Stewards that upon examination the greyhound Cookie Deeds presented no injury.
