Steward's Report

My Buddy Benny and Trendy Universe collided soon after the start.  Migration crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Fireweed, Code Blue Sue, My Buddy Benny and Trendy Universe, severely checking Liquid Crystal.  Trendy Universe and Migration collided on the first turn.  Fireweed, Code Blue Sue and Trendy Universe collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Migration and Rufus Scrimgeour collided on the home turn.  Flying Lantern visibly eased approaching the winning post.

Flying Lantern was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left triangle muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Representative, Mr P. Riley regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.   Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Flying Lantern was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Riley pleaded guilty to the charge, Flying Lantern was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Rufus Scrimgeour was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards spoke to Trainer, Ms. L. Cockerell, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.   After hearing evidence from Ms. Cockerell, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.
