A pre-race sample was taken from Spring Value.
Fab Motto, Wheelin' In and Spring Value were slow to begin.
Gone Cranky, Courteous Reiko and Wheelin' In collided on the first turn. Courteous Reiko and Wheelin' In collided on the first turn. Gone Cranky and Twinkle Love collided on the home turn. Gone Cranky, Wheelin' In and Erupting Avatar collided in the home straight. Spring Value and Red Sunset collided approaching the winning post.
Spring Value underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg calf muscle injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Mugavin regarding the racing manners of Spring Value approaching the winning post. After hearing evidence from Mr Mugavin, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.
