Buster Giblet and Fugacious were slow to begin.
Crackerjack Suni, Mr. Bent Lee, Cool Customer and Kandinsky collided on the first turn; checking Crackerjack Suni, Mr. Bent Lee and Cashton Bale; causing Cool Customer to fall. Percy's Princess and Fugacious collided in the home straight. Crackerjack Suni raced wide in the home straight.
Cool Customer underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg tibia fracture injury. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
