Twinkle Love, Cruising Ruby and Inga Leo were quick to begin.
Accomplishment and Desmonde collided approaching the first turn. Inga Leo and Nitro Yap collided approaching the first turn, checking Inga Leo. Accomplishment, Twinkle Love and Desmonde collided on the first turn; checking Twinkle Love and Desmonde; severely checking Inga Leo. Miss Daisy Hill turned its head out on the home turn and marred Desmonde; severely checking Desmonde and Twinkle Love.
Miss Daisy Hill underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg toe ligament injury. A five day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Martin Taylor, the trainer of Miss Daisy Hill regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Miss Daisy Hill was charged with marring. Mr Taylor pleaded guilty to the charge, Miss Daisy Hill was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
