Shake And Treble was slow to begin.
Blazing Penny checked off Freya Bale soon after the start. Aston Marla and Aston Value collided on the first turn; checking Blazing Penny, Aston Marla and Aston Value. Slingshot Trojan and Freya Bale collided on the first turn; checking Action Girl; severely checking Freya Bale. Shake And Treble and Action Girl collided entering the home straight. Freya Bale and Aston Value collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Aston Value turned its head outwards in the home straight.
Aston Marla underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg split webbing injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Aston Value underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left hindleg thigh muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Ms Aimee Drew regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B(1), Aston Value was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Drew pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Value was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Action Girl - the winner of the event.
Ms Hannah Garner failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Aston Hebe for racing. A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 46(2).
