Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Falcon.
Chic stumbled at the start. Lektra Heckler, Aston Falcon, Weblec Hawk and Lektra Rhino collided soon after the start, checking Aston Falcon. Blackpool Rex, Zambora Flame and Blue Redeemer collided soon after the start. Blackpool Rex and Zambora Flame collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Aston Falcon faltered on the first turn and collided with Chic. Weblec Hawk checked off Lektra Rhino approaching the home turn; checking both greyhounds; causing Weblec Hawk to fall. Blackpool Rex and Lektra Rhino collided approaching the home turn.
Aston Falcon underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race five. Aston Falcon was found to have an abrasion to the right foreleg and right hindleg hamstrings injuries. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Weblec Hawk underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
