Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Nitro Antwon on Thursday, 21 September 2021 pursuant to GAR 79A.
A pre-race sample was taken from Sharnee Rose.
Sharnee Rose and Aston Secret collided soon after the start. Nitro Antwon and Naha collided soon after the start. Our Frankie checked off Capra approaching the first turn. Nitro Antwon and Capra collided approaching the first turn, checking Capra. Capra, Naha, Why Not Kez and Grawlix collided on the first turn; checking all four greyhounds. Capra checked off Grawlix approaching the home turn. Naha and Grawlix collided on the home turn. Sharnee Rose veered out approaching the winning post and marred Aston Secret.
Sharnee Rose underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Duncan, the trainer of Sharnee Rose regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Sharnee Rose was charged with marring. Mr Duncan pleaded guilty to the charge, Sharnee Rose was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
