Steward's Report
Retro Rocket and Nike Apache were slow to begin. Nine Nine, Blazing Times and Balt's Flying collided approaching the first turn. Nike Apache crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Blazing Times. Ben Mayo and Western Blazer collided on the first turn. Blazing Times visibly eased on the second turn. Nine Nine and Retro Rocket collided in the back straight.
Blazing Times underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 5. Blazing Times was found to have a right hamstring injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mr. Damon Donnelly regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Blazing Times was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Donnelly pleaded guilty to the charge, Blazing Times was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
