Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Limit Switch was quick to begin. Zippy Yamaha and Midoriyama collided soon after the start.  Old News checked off Limit Switch soon after the start checking Zippy Yamaha.  Old News and Limit Switch collided on the first turn checking Limit Switch and Amnesty.  Zippy Tesla and Bitter Twist collided approaching the second turn causing Zippy Tesla to fall and take no further part in the event.  Amnesty checked off Bitter Twist in the back straight.

Zippy Tesla underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the tongue - no stand down period was imposed.

Retro Rocket and Nike Apache were slow to begin. Nine Nine, Blazing Times and Balt's Flying collided approaching the first turn.  Nike Apache crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Blazing Times.  Ben Mayo and Western Blazer collided on the first turn.  Blazing Times visibly eased on the second turn.  Nine Nine and Retro Rocket collided in the back straight.

Blazing Times underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 5.  Blazing Times was found to have a right hamstring injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to representative,  Mr. Damon Donnelly regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Blazing Times was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Donnelly pleaded guilty to the charge, Blazing Times was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future  nomination will be accepted.

Kasemi and Dr. Xander collided soon after the start checking Dr. Xander.  Super Marli and You Ember collided soon after the start checking You Ember.  Super Marli and Crackerjack Zave collided on the first turn.  Denzell Bale and You Ember collided on the first turn checking You Ember.  Crackerjack Zave and You Ember collided on the third turn checking You Ember.

A post-race sample was taken from Hebridean Black - the winner of the event.

Knicks Bale was slow to begin. Nikephoros and Empress Tears collided on the first turn.  Nikephoros and Knicks Bale collided on the second turn.  Nikephoros, Empress Tears and Gypsy Wyong collided approaching the home turn checking Nikephoros.  Empress Tears marred Knicks Bale approaching the winning post and made head and muzzle contact.

Empress Tears underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left metacarpal.  No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. P. Riley regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Empress Tears was charged with marring.  Mr. Riley pleaded not guilty to the charge, however Empress Tears was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Orson Avery - Late scratching at 12:25pm when trainer Ms. Chloe Dew reported the greyhound to have an illness. (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Time For Peace, Jax Bale, Mahogany Jet, Eat My Dust and Bobby The Brute collided soon after the start checking Mahogany Jet and Bobby The Brute.  Eat My Dust and Winlock Thor collided approaching the first turn checking Winlock Thor.  Mahogany Jet and Bobby The Brute collided approaching the first turn checking Bobby The Brute.  Mahogany Jet and Winlock Thor collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Jax Bale and Eat My Dust collided on the first turn.  Bobby The Brute checked off Winlock Thor entering the back straight.

Mahogany Jet underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left deltoid muscle injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Major Sacrifice, My Father's Son, Fabriola Zad and Snapper Smith were slow to begin.  Jayville Slick, Party Lights and Carry On Maxwell collided on the first turn.  Major Sacrifice checked off Carry On Maxwell on the second turn checking Fabriola Zad and Snapper Smith.  Major Sacrifice and Fabriola Zad collided entering the home straight.  My Father's Son checked off Jayville Slick approaching the winning post.

Mr. Speaker and Plan Ahead were slow to begin. Untapped and Aratuza Bale collided soon after the start.  Untapped, Aratuza Bale, Plan Ahead, Mr. Speaker and Dundee Ember collided on the first turn checking Mr. Speaker and Untapped.  Untapped checked off Mr. Speaker approaching the home turn.

Fernando Mick and Lakeview Walter collided soon after the start checking Fernando Mick.  Barooga Smoke, Carry On Angel and Gypsy Bun collided soon after the start.  Barooga Smoke, Carry On Angel, Gypsy Bun, Abelero Bale and Javi collided approaching the first turn checking Abelero Bale.  Carry On Angel, Gypsy Bun and Javi collided on the first turn checking Gypsy Bun.  Fernando Mick and Abelero Bale collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.

Malayah Bale was slow to begin. Riccarton Rick and Candy Carrera collided soon after the start.  Thunder Tears and Candy Carrera collided on the first turn checking Candy Carrera.  Yeah Easy and Aston Future collided on the first turn and again in the front straight.  Aston Future checked off Yeah Easy entering the back straight.  Malayah Bale raced wide on the home turn.

Avenger Lass was slow to begin. Tiberia Bale shifted inwards towards the rail shortly after start checking Pansy Parkinson and Weblec Star. Aces Are Tyumps crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Sharky Shark and Little Nellie. Avenger Lass checked off Nenna Tears through the first turn.  Little Nellie and Avenger Lass collided on the second turn; Avenger Lass lost ground as a result.  Pansy Parkinson checked off Little Nellie entering the back straight.  Avenger Lass checked off Little Nellie in the back straight and subsequently tailed off.

Avenger Lass underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Joe Borg regarding the performance of Avenger Lass and it losing ground from the back straight. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mr Borg to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Avenger Lass in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.

Supplementary Report 2/10/21:  Trainer, Mr Joe Borg notified Stewards that Avenger Lass was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle and to the right back muscle. 

Hear The Drum was slow to begin.  Crackerjack Suni, Uncle's Girl and Eleora Bale collided soon after the start checking Uncle's Girl and Eleora Bale.  Uncle's Girl and Eleora Bale collided on the first turn.  Spanish Miss checked off Affair Bit on the first turn.  Hear The Drum checked off Thylacine on the second turn checking Uncle's Girl.  Spanish Miss checked off Thylacine approaching the home turn checking Eleora Bale.
