Steward's Report
Knicks Bale was slow to begin. Nikephoros and Empress Tears collided on the first turn. Nikephoros and Knicks Bale collided on the second turn. Nikephoros, Empress Tears and Gypsy Wyong collided approaching the home turn checking Nikephoros. Empress Tears marred Knicks Bale approaching the winning post and made head and muzzle contact.
Empress Tears underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left metacarpal. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. P. Riley regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Empress Tears was charged with marring. Mr. Riley pleaded not guilty to the charge, however Empress Tears was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
