Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Aston Nino on 11/9/21 pursuant to GAR 79A.
A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Nino.
Queen Kathleen, Minter Zoom and California Blond were quick to begin. Ironclad and California Blond collided soon after the start checking California Blond. Locked In checked off Aston Nino approaching the first turn. Aston Sylvie checked off Aston Nino on the first turn. Locked In and Aston Sylvie collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Go Rogue checked off Aston Nino on the first turn and collided with Ironclad checking Go Rogue and Ironclad. Aston Sylvie and Locked In collided approaching the home turn. Go Rogue and Ironclad collided several times approaching the home turn through to the home straight. Go Rogue turned it's head out and marred Ironclad approaching the winning post.
Go Rogue underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hind triangle muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Brian Alford, the trainer of Go Rogue regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Go Rogue was charged with marring. Mr. Alford pleaded guilty to the charge, Go Rogue was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
