Gimbal went up with the lids.  Gimbal and Joffa's Neptune collided soon after the start.  Fatboy Leeroy, Mariah Queen and Riverdale Ella collided approaching the first turn.  Joffa's Neptune and Riverdale Ella collided on the first turn.  Riverdale Ella shifted out and raced wide on the home turn.  Mariah Queen shifted out and raced wide on the home turn, colliding with Joffa's Neptune and causing Joffa's Neptune to race wide as a result.  Fatboy Leeroy veered out, visibly eased and turned its head outwards on the home turn checking Mariah Queen and Riverdale Ella.  

Fatboy Leeroy underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mrs Lisa Cockerell, the representative regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Fatboy Leeroy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Cockerell pleaded guilty to the charge, Fatboy Leeroy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
