Brilliant Brian - An out of competition sample was taken on Monday 15 February pursuant to GAR 79A
Brilliant Brian and Press On were slow to begin.
Pabbie Bale and Black Belt Magic collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds. Lala Ivory and Zivon Bale collided soon after the start, checking Zivon Bale, Zivon Bale crossed towards the running rail soon after the start, checking Brilliant Brian and Press On. Zivon Bale checked off Black Belt Magic in the back straight. Brilliant Brian contacted the running rail approaching the home turn and lost ground as a result. Zivon Bale and Pabbie Bale collided on the home turn.
Brilliant Brian underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound, left hind leg. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
