Ronny Mac was slow to begin.
Memory Lass and Urana Vieri collided approaching the first turn. Myola Dawn and Patricia Mary collided on the first turn. Ronny Mac and Wee Fishin' collided approaching the home turn. Ronny Mac raced wide on the home turn. Sugar Boloney eased and turned its head out approaching the winning post.
Sugar Boloney underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to the front and back legs, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr K Ward regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Sugar Boloney was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Ward pleaded guilty to the charge, Sugar Boloney was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Memory Lass - the winner of the event.
