Steward's Report
The traditional 2-wave (odds then evens) boxing process has been re-instated for all races in Victoria from Tuesday, 10 November 2020. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5 m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Saint Bogan – Late scratching at 11:07 am on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a papilloma. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
Black Booker was quick to begin.
Maximum Cook, Two Mac's Bang, Princess Warrior and Go Lexi Go collided soon after the start; checking Two Mac's Bang and Princess Warrior. Maximum Cook turned its head inwards approaching the first turn. Black Booker checked off Go Lexi Go on the first turn. Two Mac's Bang and Princess Warrior raced wide on the home turn. Princess Warrior checked off Two Mac's Bang in the home straight. Maximum Cook and Head Bouncer collided in the home straight, checking Maximum Cook.
Maximum Cook underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left foreleg monkey muscle and cervico-thoracic injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler, Ms C Wilson regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Maximum Cook was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Wilson pleaded guilty to the charge, Maximum Cook was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
