Steward's Report
Pull Shot was quick to begin.
Yaala Eclipse, Dust Up and Push Start collided soon after the start, checking Dust Up. Red Potion, Yaala Eclipse, Kurtlee Bale and Push Start collided on the first turn; checking Red Potion and Kid Winslow; severely checking Yaala Eclipse and Push Start. Pull Shot and Kurtlee Bale collided on the home turn. Push Start turned its head inwards in the home straight and collided with Red Potion.
Yaala Eclipse underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg back muscle injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
Push Start underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right foreleg monkey muscle and right hindleg pencil/whip injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr K Ward regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Push Start was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Ward pleaded guilty to the charge, Push Start was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Kurtlee Bale - the winner of the event.
