Maximum Shim was quick to begin. Star Gazers was slow to begin.
Friesian Flyer and Pronator collided soon after the start. Friesian Flyer, Pronator and Diamond Siena collided approaching the first turn; checking Friesian Flyer and Pronator. Friesian Flyer, Pronator, Adesanya and Star Gazers collided on the first turn; checking Friesian Flyer and Pronator. Adesanya and Star Gazers collided approaching the home turn, checking Star Gazers. Friesian Flyer checked off Star Gazers on the home turn. Diamond Siena failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight. Maximum Shim and Diamond Siena collided at the winning post.
Diamond Siena underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 11, no apparent injury could be detected.
Stewards spoke to Ms Heather Baxter, the trainer of Diamond Siena regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Diamond Siena was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Baxter pleaded not guilty to the charge, Diamond Siena was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
