All persons (GRV & Club Staff, Licensed Participants & limited general public) attending the venue today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 27 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Just prior to Race 1, the Stewards relaxed two components of the hot weather requirements in that greyhounds were not required to remain on course for any longer than normal after racing and that the parading of greyhounds was able to occur, as the outside temperature had fallen to 24 degrees.

Dark Jedi underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the Trainers request and was found to have a suspected fractured right hock. A 28 stand down period was imposed.

Pirate Pete underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right triangle muscle and right hamstrings. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Memphis Keeping proved awkward to box for the handler. Connections advised that a different handler will handle Memphis Keeping in his future starts. The Stewards were satisfied with this course of action.

Cha Cha Charlie checked off Mr. America approaching the second turn. Mr. America and Cha Cha Charlie collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Wild Card and Lakeview Walter collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Do It, Aston Gwen, Halbred Bale and Shima Jake collided on the first turn checking all four greyhounds. Lakeview Walter severely checked off Shima Jake in the home straight causing Lakeview Walter to fall, checking Aston Gwen as a result.

Stewards issued a warning pursuant to GAR 86 (o) for negligence, to Ms Rickii Lee Church, the handler of Shima Classic after placing the incorrect racing rug on the greyhound. The correct racing rug was placed on Shima Classic before the greyhound was scanned out for racing.
