Steward's Report
All persons (GRV & Club Staff, Licensed Participants & limited general public) attending the venue today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 27 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
An out of competition sample was taken from Here’s Tears and Sunset Bourbski on 15 February 2021, Cawbourne Footrot on 16 February 2021, My Girl Kizzy on 17 February 2021 and Burn Time and Midnight Force on 18 February 2021 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Just prior to Race 1, the Stewards relaxed two components of the hot weather requirements in that greyhounds were not required to remain on course for any longer than normal after racing and that the parading of greyhounds was able to occur, as the outside temperature had fallen to 24 degrees.
Burn Time and Here's Tears collided on the first turn. Here's Tears checked off Midnight Force approaching the home turn.
Post-race samples were taken from Sunset Bourbski (1st) and Here's Tears (2nd).
