Steward's Report
Vayda Bale was quick to begin. Josie Wags, Giovanni and Justify were slow to begin.
Gintoki Bale and Nitro Tommy collided soon after the start. Gintoki Bale and Josie Wags collided approaching the first turn. Vayda Bale and Giovanni collided approaching the home turn, resulting in both greyhounds racing wide. Justify raced wide approaching the home turn. Vayda Bale and Josie Wags collided entering the home straight.
Giovanni underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg pencil/whip injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms K Prowse regarding the racing manners of Giovanni approaching the home turn. After hearing evidence from Ms Prowse, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn.
