Steward's Report
Loretta Bale was quick to begin. Burning Up was slow to begin.
Waldemar Bale, Crowdza Smiling and Tybalt Balt collided in the back straight, checking Crowdza Smiling and Tybalt Bale. Crackerjack Keg visibly eased on the first turn. Tybalt Bale and Burning Up collided on the first turn. Waldemar Bale and Nicky Mustang collided on the first turn, checking Nicky Mustang.
Crackerjack Keg underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race four - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Clifford Smith regarding the greyhound’s racing manner on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Crackerjack Keg was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Smith pleaded not guilty to the charge. Crackerjack Keg was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
