A pre-race sample was taken from Scatterbox.
Abelero Bale, Marshall's King, La La Oregon and Midnight Force were slow to begin.
Scatterbox and Xamira Bale collided soon after the start. Marshall's King and La La Oregon collided approaching the first turn checking La La Oregon. Scatterbox, Xamira Bale, Marshall's King and Midnight Force collided on the first turn. Abelero Bale, Xamira Bale, Marshall's King and Midnight Force collided approaching the second turn checking all four greyhounds. Xamira Bale checked off La La Oregon in the back straight. Midnight Force checked off Scatterbox on the third turn. Abelero Bale, Sudden Force and Colden Dayto collided approaching the home turn.
