Steward's Report
All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race-day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.
Invictus Kelly stumbled at box rise and was very slow to begin - 4 lengths. Thursday Knight was quick to begin. Five Star and Starlight Amy were slow to begin.
Carla Veloso and Affair Bit collided approaching the first turn. Zipping Trish and Starlight Amy collided approaching the second turn. Showtime Boomer checked off Carla Veloso approaching the second turn causing Five Star, Affair Bit and Starlight Amy to race wide. Five Star checked off Showtime Boomer on the second turn.
Following the event Thursday Knight underwent a post-race veterinary examination due to having a seizure in the catching pen. The greyhound was found to have suffered from suspected anoxia (lack of oxygen). No stand down penalty was imposed by the On Track Vet. Acting in accordance with GAR 74 Thursday Knight must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72 and connections must furnish a veterinary clearance to GRV before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Thursday Knight - the winner of the event.
