Steward's Report
All persons attending the venue today carried face masks, observed social distance requirements, and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.
A pre-race sample was taken from Ava's Prediction.
One Tonne was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Brizo and Ava's Prediction collided approaching the first turn. Brizo, Ava's Prediction, Okay Karen, Stella's Memory, Inky's Fireball and Kid Tullamore collided approaching the home turn severely checking Kid Tullamore and severely checking Okay Karen which stumbled and pulled up. Brizo galloped on the heels of Stella's Memory approaching the home turn. Stella's Memory visibly eased and turned it's head outwards approaching the home turn. Killer Miss visibly eased and turned it's head outwards approaching the home turn. Killer Miss and Stella's Memory collided entering the home straight. One Tonne and Stella's Memory collided in the home straight.
Okay Karen underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Killer Miss underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right flexor tendon injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Brian Brown, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Killer Miss was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Brown pleaded guilty to the charge, Killer Miss was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stella's Memory underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Thomas Boehmke, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Stella's Memory was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Boehmke pleaded not guilty to the charge, Stella's Memory was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
One Tonne – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52.
