Steward's Report
All persons attending the venue today carried face masks, observed social distance requirements, and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.
Hooman turned its head inwards soon after the start and collided with Awesome Ability causing Only Dream and Awesome Ability to collide. Bondy Bear crossed to the rail soon after the start and checked off Joyous Sensation. Hooman crossed out wide approaching the first turn. Bondy Bear and Only Dream collided approaching the first turn checking Only Dream. Joyous Sensation checked off Ricky Racoon on the first turn. Bondy Bear, Joyous Sensation and Blazing Penny collided approaching the home turn checking Blazing Penny. Ricky Racoon checked off Awesome Ability in the home straight.
Hooman underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 3, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Ms C. Jayakody, the trainer of Hooman regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Hooman was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Jayakody trainer pleaded guilty to the charge, Hooman was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at geelong all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
