Steward's Report
Stewards attended the kennels of trainer Mrs. A. Dailly, together with veterinarian Dr. C. Finlayson, and confirmed that Lala Kiwi had sustained an injury to the left fore toe. Stewards opened an inquiry with kennel representative Mr. T. Dailly regarding the scratching of Lala Kiwi from this event. The inquiry was adjourned to enable Stewards to review the evidence provided and wagering on this event. Following the wagering analysis no further action was taken other than to note the circumstances.
B. Ennis was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound, Jim Zarr Dashian pursuant to GAR 33.
Denzell Bale and Jim Zarr Dashian were quick to begin. California Gold was slow to begin.
Junk Food Junkie crossed to the rail approaching the first turn. Jim Zarr Dashian falted on the first turn checking Jax Bale causing Mepunga Warrior and California Gold to collide. Denzell Bale checked off Junk Food Junkie on the third turn. Jax Bale checked off Junk Food Junkie on the home turn Jax Bale and Mepunga Warrior collided as a result.
Jim Zarr Dashian underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Post-race samples were taken from Junk Food Junkie (1st), Mepunga Warrior (2nd).
