Bondy Bear crossed to the rail soon after the start and checked off Joyous Sensation. Hooman crossed out wide approaching the first turn. Bondy Bear and Only Dream collided approaching the first turn checking Only Dream. Joyous Sensation checked off Ricky Racoon on the first turn. Bondy Bear, Joyous Sensation and Blazing Penny collided approaching the home turn checking Blazing Penny. Ricky Racoon checked off Awesome Ability in the home straight. 

Hooman underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 3, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Ms C. Jayakody, the trainer of Hooman regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Hooman was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Jayakody trainer pleaded guilty to the charge, Hooman was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at geelong all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Inga Luna and Blue Gal were quick to begin.

Arby's Roger and Aston Elliot collided soon after the start. Arby's Roger and Destroy We Said collided approaching the first turn checking Destroy We Said. Inga Luna checked off Blue Gal on the first turn and again approaching the home turn. Destroy We Said checked off Inga Luna approaching the home turn causing Destroy We Said and Arby's Phoebe to collide. Inga Luna lost ground over concluding stages of the event.

Inga Luna underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left and right hindleg triangle muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Thriving was slow to begin. Keep It Black and Langfield Bale were quick to begin.

Stewards attended the kennels of trainer Mrs. A. Dailly, together with veterinarian Dr. C. Finlayson, and confirmed that Lala Kiwi had sustained an injury to the left fore toe. Stewards opened an inquiry with kennel representative Mr. T. Dailly regarding the scratching of Lala Kiwi from this event. The inquiry was adjourned to enable Stewards to review the evidence provided and wagering on this event.  Following the wagering analysis no further action was taken other than to note the circumstances.

B. Ennis was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound, Jim Zarr Dashian pursuant to GAR 33.

Stewards opened an inquiry with kennel representative Mr. T. Dailly regarding the scratching of Speed Star from this event. Mr. Dailly advised Stewards that the greyhound races well at Geelong, and added that the run over 311m at Cranbourne on 14/4/21 would have been a good lead up to tonight’s event if Speed Star had not sustained the tendon injury. The inquiry was adjourned to enable Stewards to review the evidence provided and wagering on this event. Following the wagering analysis no further action was taken other than to note the circumstances.
