The traditional 2-wave (odds then evens) boxing process has been re-instated for all races in Victoria from Tuesday 10 November 2020. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times. 

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Dark Pearl - New declared weight of 27.8kg, last raced at 26.0kg.

Westar Ivan, Dark Pearl and Rocky Point were quick to begin. Daph's Farrah, Tinker To Burn and Big Alfie were slow to begin.

Tinker To Burn and Big Alfie collided soon after the start. Westar Ivan and Dark Pearl collided on the first turn. Westar Ivan and Daph's Farrah collided several times on the first turn. Westar Ivan, Daph's Farrah, Tinker To Burn and Dark Pearl collided on the first turn checking Tinker To Burn and Dark Pearl. Big Alfie and Rocky Point rushed in the home straight. Brindi Yaala visibly eased in the home straight. Brindi Yaala and Tinker To Burn collided in the home straight.

Brindi Yaala underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left deltoid injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr A. Welsh, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Brindi Yaala was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Welsh pleaded guilty to the charge, Brindi Yaala was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke with trainer Ms Cassendra Jayakody with regard to the circumstances surrounding the late scratching of the greyhound, noted the trainers advice and further ordered a veterinary certificate of fitness pursuant to GAR 20 (3) (v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Gotham Duke and Sharky Shark were quick to begin. Mepunga Spectre was slow to begin.

Mepunga Spectre and Sharky Shark collided on the first turn. Aussie Secret galloped on the heels of Sharky Shark on the first turn. Gotham Duke visibly eased and shifted out colliding several times with Coco Nova approaching the home turn; both greyhounds raced wide as a result.

Gotham Duke underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right monkey and the right thigh muscles, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mrs M. Lithgow, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Gotham Duke was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Lithgow pleaded guilty to the charge, Gotham Duke was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Bound To Succeed, Run Baba Run, Special Talent and Junk Food Junkie were quick to begin. Rolling Stone was slow to begin.

Rolling Stone and Mr. Bob collided approaching the first turn. Rolling Stone and Run Baba Run collided heavily on the first turn severely checking Run Baba Run. Bound To Succeed galloped on the heels of Benchester on the first turn; both greyhounds lost ground as a result. Bound To Succeed and Mr. Bob collided on the home turn. Benchester faded in the home straight.

Punk Star Rocks - Late scratching at 17:23pm when trainer, Mr B. Mackie, reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Cairnlea Pebbles, Made Me Blind and Lektra Jena were quick to begin. Nessa's Zara was slow to begin.

Made Me Blind and Lektra Jena collided soon after the start. Made Me Blind checked off the heels of Cheri Clownfish on the first turn. Nessa's Zara shifted out and checked off the heels of Cheri Clownfish in the home straight. 

Nessa's Zara underwent a post-race veterinary examination, following a fall after the finishing line and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Meehan Marlow and Sarcasmic were quick to begin. Way To Important, Blue Magic Opal and Mr. America were slow to begin.

Way To Important, Blue Magic Opal and Mr. America collided soon after the start. Blue Magic Opal checked off Mr. America soon after the start. Way To Important and Blue Magic Opal collided soon after the start; Blue Magic Opal stumbled and lost ground. Way To Important, Blue Magic Opal and Sarcasmic collided on the first turn. Way To Important galloped on the heels of Sarcasmic on the first turn; Way To Important lost considerable ground. Sarcasmic faded in the home straight.

Sarcasmic underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right hind leg. No stand down period was imposed.
