Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Giant's Flash.
Giant's Flash was slow to begin.
Longstaff, Dark Compass, King Crow, Come On Aileen and Black Phoenix collided approaching the first turn; checking Dark Compass, King Crow and Black Phoenix. Giant's Flash, Dark Compass and Black Phoenix collided on the first turn, checking Black Phoenix. Giant's Flash turned its head outwards approaching the winning post and collided with Longstaff.
Giant's Flash underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Mr R Clark declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr R Clark, the trainer of Giant's Flash, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Giant's Flash was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Clark pleaded guilty to the charge, Giant's Flash was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
