Steward's Report
The traditional 2-wave (odds then evens) boxing process has been re-instated for all races in Victoria from Tuesday 10 November 2020. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 35 degrees, and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
The closing time of kennelling was altered in accordance with GAR 31, due to the late arrival of several trainers from the West who experienced significant traffic delays on–route to the track. The kennels closed at 6.04pm.
Under clause 32 of the Hot Weather Policy the Stewards dispensed of requirement 15 of the Hot Weather Policy and the parading of greyhounds was conducted for Races 4-12.
An out of competition sample was taken from Arizona Eyes on 23 November 2020, pursuant to GAR 79A.
Aston Silk was quick to begin. Better Watch Out and Arizona Eyes were slow to begin.
Weblec Jet, Wonderful World and Suvla Bay collided approaching the first turn checking Wonderful World. Wonderful World and Super Zoom Jake collided on the first turn. Better Watch Out, Taken and Weblec Jet collided on the first turn checking Taken, Weblec Jet and Suvla Bay. Weblec Jet and Suvla Bay collided approaching the third turn.
A post-race sample was taken from Arizona Eyes - winner of the event.
