Lachie's Legacy and Chasing Beers were slow to begin.

Liverpool Flyer and Aston Genesis collided soon after the start. Flying Farrokh, Liverpool Flyer and Aston Genesis collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Lachie's Legacy checked off Artic Assassin on the second turn. Liverpool Flyer and Aston Genesis collided on the second turn. Chasing Beers raced wide on the second turn and lost ground for the remainder of the event. Aston Genesis checked off Flying Farrokh in the back straight.
