Steward's Report
Mr. Speaker was slow to begin.
Off It's Chops and Beep Test Baron collided soon after the start checking Off It's Chops. Mepunga Warrior and Master Febey collided in the front straight. Tears I'm Here and Mepunga Warrior collided approaching the first turn. Aston Lavina and Sunnyside Pride collided on the first turn. Master Febey and Mr. Speaker collided on the first turn. Off It's Chops raced wide on the first turn. Master Febey checked off Mr. Speaker approaching the second turn checking Tear's I'm Here and Off It's Chops. Beep Test Baron checked off Aston Lavina on the second turn. Aston Lavina and Sunnyside Pride collided on the second turn and again several times in the back straight. Tears I'm Here, Master Febey, Mepunga Warrior and Off It's Chops collided on the second turn checking Tears I'm Here and Master Fenbey causing Tears I'm Here and Master Febey to lose ground. Beep Test Baron checked off Sunnyside Pride from approaching the third turn to the home turn. Beep Test Baron brushed the running rail entering the home straight. Sunnyside Pride turned its head inwards and visibly eased in the home straight.
Sunnyside Pride underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound on the left hind foot. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr David Geall, Trainer regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Sunnyside Pride was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Geall pleaded guilty to the charge, Sunnyside Pride was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
