Steward's Report
Stay Focused - Late scratching at 7.35am when Ms Samantha Hooke reported the greyhound to have an injury to the pencil muscle (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
I'm A Lawyer and Bye The Way were quick to begin.
Tears No More and Invincible Sight collided on the first turn. Monument Valley raced wide on the first turn. Bye The Way and Tumbarumba Time collided on the second turn. Tumbarumba Time marred Bye The Way approaching the third turn and again in the back straight checking Bye The Way, causing both greyhounds to tail off.
Tumbarumba Time underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Ms Martina Kirillidis, the representative of Tumbarumba Time regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Tumbarumba Time was charged with marring. Ms Kirillidis pleaded guilty to the charge, Tumbarumba Time was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at the Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
