Steward's Report
Frank's Girl and Fernando Bluey were slow to begin.
Darra Onyx and Revelation collided soon after the start. Frank's Girl, Elsa Rose, Exhilarating and Midnight Force collided on the first turn checking Elsa Rose. Exhilarating and Frank's Girl collided approaching the second turn checking Exhilarating. Exhilarating turn its head outwards and visibly eased approaching the second turn. Darra Onyx and Frank's Girl collided on the second turn. Daph's Zac and Exhilarating collided entering the back straight. Revelation and Darra Onyx collided on the third turn causing Revelation to fall. Exhilarating checked off Daph's Zac approaching the home turn checking Elsa Rose; Exhilarating stumbled as a result.
Exhilarating underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Presutto, the Trainer of Exhilarating regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Exhilarating was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Presutto pleaded guilty to the charge, Exhilarating was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Revelation underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right pectoral muscle and right infraspinatus muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Fernando Bluey - winner of the event.
