Stewards spoke to Mr. Dennis Dean the trainer of  Slimmer's Hand regarding the greyhound's performance in this event.  Mr. Dean stated that the greyhound suffered considerable interference throughout the event and was having its first attempt at this distance.  Stewards noted the explanation and after reviewing the video footage took no further action.

Blonde Jettie, Brooklyn Cruiser and Alvarez were slow to begin.  Princess Scrappy, Brooklyn Cruiser and Blonde Jettie collided soon after the start checking Blonde Jettie.  Smashing Success, Dash Good and Cool Maxine collided approaching the first turn checking Smashing Success and Dash Good.  Blonde Jettie and Brooklyn Cruiser collided approaching the first turn checking Blonde Jettie.  Smashing Success and Loyal Miss collided approaching the home turn.  Princess Scrappy and Alvarez collided approaching the home turn.  Loyal Miss, Princess Scrappy and Alvarez collided approaching the home turn checking Loyal Miss and Blonde Jettie and severely checking Princess Scrappy.  Dash Good and Blonde Jettie collided approaching the home turn.  Cool Maxine clipped the heels of Loyal Miss approaching the home turn.  Loyal Miss and Cool Maxine collided entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Paul Spiteri regarding the direction that the greyhound Dash Good be boxed first.  Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Little Mantra was slow to begin.  Nimble Icon and Hot Blooded collided soon after the start checking Hot Blooded.  Noaki Swift and Meganaut collided soon after the start checking Meganaut.  Noaki Swift, Meganaut and Nimble Icon collided approaching the first turn checking Meganaut and Nimble Icon.  Under Taker and Hot Blooded collided on the first turn checking Bush Justice and Hot Blooded.  Fred Best and Under Taker collided on the second turn checking Under Taker.  Noaki Swift was checked off Hot Blooded approaching the second turn.  Noaki Swift and Meganaut collided approaching the second turn checking Meganaut.  Under Taker and Hot Blooded collided on the second turn checking Hot Blooded.

Noaki Swallow was a late scratching at 11.19am due to non arrival (GAR 31).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer Mr. Martin Baldock was fined the sum of $100.

Purple Flynn was slow to begin.  Playing Tough and Ragtime Rosie collided approaching the first turn.  Clover Leaf, Playing Tough, Ragtime Rosie and Gisborne Shiraz collided on the first turn checking Clover Leaf, Ragtime Rosie and Cut's Out Time.  Purple Flynn and Cut's Out Time collided on the first turn checking Cut's Out Time.  Clover Leaf was checked off Ragtime Rosie approaching the second turn severely checking Clover Leaf, Purple Flynn and Cut's Out Time, all three greyhounds lost considerable ground, Purple Flynn subsequently tailed off.  Cut's Out Time marred Clover Leaf approaching the home turn and again approaching the winning post, both greyhounds tailed off.

Purple Flynn was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right hamstring, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Cut's Out Time was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent. 

Stewards spoke to Ms. Kath Fogarty the trainer of the greyhound Cut's Out Time.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Cut's Out Time with marring and suspended the greyhound for 3 months all tracks and directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. William Baldock the owner of Noaki Swallow regarding the circumstances surrounding the non arrival of the greyhound.  Stewards adjouned the matter until 23/04/14 at Cranbourne where evidence will be taken from the trainer Mr. Martin Baldock.
