Steward's Report
Noaki Swallow was a late scratching at 11.19am due to non arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. Martin Baldock was fined the sum of $100.
Purple Flynn was slow to begin. Playing Tough and Ragtime Rosie collided approaching the first turn. Clover Leaf, Playing Tough, Ragtime Rosie and Gisborne Shiraz collided on the first turn checking Clover Leaf, Ragtime Rosie and Cut's Out Time. Purple Flynn and Cut's Out Time collided on the first turn checking Cut's Out Time. Clover Leaf was checked off Ragtime Rosie approaching the second turn severely checking Clover Leaf, Purple Flynn and Cut's Out Time, all three greyhounds lost considerable ground, Purple Flynn subsequently tailed off. Cut's Out Time marred Clover Leaf approaching the home turn and again approaching the winning post, both greyhounds tailed off.
Clover Leaf was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Purple Flynn was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right hamstring, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Cut's Out Time was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Kath Fogarty the trainer of the greyhound Cut's Out Time. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Cut's Out Time with marring and suspended the greyhound for 3 months all tracks and directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. William Baldock the owner of Noaki Swallow regarding the circumstances surrounding the non arrival of the greyhound. Stewards adjouned the matter until 23/04/14 at Cranbourne where evidence will be taken from the trainer Mr. Martin Baldock.
