Bridie's Lass was slow to begin. Bailey Rose and Winema collided soon after the start checking Bailey Rose. Matlin's Tornado and Slimmer's Hand collided soon after the start checking Matlin's Tornado. Matlin's Tornado and Kyah Jenny collided approaching the first turn. Bailey Rose, Slimmer's Hand and Lilly's Hand collided on the first turn checking Slimmer's Hand, Lilly's Hand and Zeva Diva. Bridie's Lass was checked off Matlin's Tornado approaching the second turn. Matlin's Tornado and Slimmer's Hand collided several times approaching the second turn. Matlin's Tornado and Slimmer's Hand collided on the second turn checking Slimmer's Hand. Bridie's Lass galloped on Slimmer's Hand in the back straight severely checking Slimmer's Hand which lost ground. Lilly's Hand and Zeva Diva collided approaching the home turn checking Zeva Diva. Stewards spoke to Mr. Dennis Dean the trainer of Slimmer's Hand regarding the greyhound's performance in this event. Mr. Dean stated that the greyhound suffered considerable interference throughout the event and was having its first attempt at this distance. Stewards noted the explanation and after reviewing the video footage took no further action.
