Stewards spoke to the trainer of Luna Jinx, Mr G Harris regarding the greyhound's peformance this evening.  Mr Harris stated that he believed after his greyhound was slow to begin, her inexperience in that she was only having her 8th start counted against her.  He also believed that the interference that she suffered whilst trying to improve her position in the event contributed to her performance.  Stewards accepted Mr Harris' explanation and directed that the greyhound be vetted.

Luna Jinx was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left and right monkey muscles.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr R Camilleri , the handler of the greyhound Wilma Bale.  Wilma Bale was vetted  following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle and left hind.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Wilma Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Lavender Brown was quick to begin.  Mepunga Melachi was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Campaspe Will and Wise Ella collided soon after the start.  Bazza's Gift and Cornelius Fudge collided soon after the start.  Godric Gryfindor and Campaspe Will collided on the first turn.  Bazza's Gift checked off Marcus Joe on the first turn.  Godric Gryfindor and Campaspe Will collided entering the back straight.  Cornelius Fudge and Wise Ella collided approaching the third turn.  Godric Gryfindor and Lavender Brown collided several times from the third turn to approaching the home turn, checking Marcus Joe.  Godric Gryfindor and Bazza's Gift collided on the home turn.  Mepunga Melachi checked off Marcus Joe on the home turn.  Lavender Brown, Godric Gryfindor and Bazza's Gift collided entering the home straight.  Mepunga Melachi and Marcus Joe collided approaching the winning post.
