Steward's Report
Butter Puddin' was slow to begin.
Running Gear, Ernie Prang and Aussie Built collided soon after the start, checking Ernie Prang. Ernie Prang checked off Butter Puddin' approaching the first turn. Running Gear visibly eased, turned its head and shifted out on the first turn, checking Running Gear, Aston Adonis and Fernando Fury. Fernando Fury checked off Aston Adonis in the home straight.
Running Gear underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right fore lost toenail and a right hind triangle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the handler, Mr C. Solkhon regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Running Gear was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Solkhon pleaded guilty to the charge, Running Gear was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
