Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID–19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4–wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore facemasks/covers that in–turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race–day functions and operations.

Post Office Girl and Quintana Bale collided soon after the start.  Westar Carrie checked off Post Office Girl on the first turn, checking Zeeba's Legacy and Saint Mac.  Westar Carrie and Saint Mac collided repeatedly on the home turn and again approaching the winning post. 

Big Alfie, Zipping Norman and Chop Scotch collided soon after the start.  Big Alfie checked off Chop Scotch approaching the first turn.  Arriba Nachos and Zipping Norman collided on the first turn, checking Arriba Nachos, Big Alfie and Chop Scotch. 

Aston Chandra and Suntory Lass were quick to begin. 

Initial It and Zipping Coby collided approaching the home turn. 

Butter Puddin' was slow to begin. 

Running Gear, Ernie Prang and Aussie Built collided soon after the start, checking Ernie Prang.  Ernie Prang checked off Butter Puddin' approaching the first turn.  Running Gear visibly eased, turned its head and shifted out on the first turn, checking Running Gear, Aston Adonis and Fernando Fury.  Fernando Fury checked off Aston Adonis in the home straight. 

Running Gear underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right fore lost toenail and a right hind triangle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to the handler, Mr C. Solkhon regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Running Gear was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Solkhon pleaded guilty to the charge,  Running Gear was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Rainbow Wish was slow to begin.  

Charging Yaala shifted in soon after the start, checking Ledgerwood Road, Say Hi, Diorite Fire and Molly Byrnes.  Ledgerwood Road, Say Hi and Diorite Fire collided approaching the first turn, checking Say Hi and Diorite Fire. Say Hi and Molly Byrnes collided approaching the home turn. Say Hi and Rainbow Wish collided entering the home straight. Diorite Fire and Molly Byrnes collided entering the home straight.
