Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Battle Axe and Tibetan collided soon after the start. Electric Head and Pennyroyal Tea collided soon after the start. Ray's Boy crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Tommy's Blazer. Battle Axe and Tibetan collided at the 300m mark and again several times from the 250m mark to approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.

Nigerian Kaboom, Yolanda and One Hombre collided soon after the start. My Girl Xena and Klimenko collided soon after the start. Elude, Totally Balanced, My Girl Xena and Klimenko collided at the 250m mark checking Totally Balanced. My Girl Xena crossed to the outside at the 250m mark checking Yolanda. Klimenko checked off Nigerian Kaboom at the 200m mark and crossed to the outside checking Elude. Totally Balanced and Sharpedo collided at the 100m mark checking Totally Balanced.

Smoking Syd and Naga Viper collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Shift Change and Polly Pocket collided at the 250m mark. Luboko and Smoking Syd collided at the 250m mark. Shift Change checked off Polly Pocket at the 50m mark and crossed out. Luboko and Smoking Syd collided approaching the winning post.

Pontiac Lass was very slow to begin - 3 lengths.

Leeky Lee, Jax Flash and Hotel Motel collided at the 250m mark. Mess lost ground at the 200m mark. Mess and Pontiac Lass collided at the 150m mark. 

Mess underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right triceps. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Ripplebrook Glen was slow to begin.

Aston Jansz and Havelock Keith collided several times from the 300m mark to the 250m mark checking both greyhounds, Aston Jansz crossed to the outside and Havelock Keith lost ground as a result. Agent Ben tired over the concluding stages. Agent Ben and Ripplebrook Glen collided approaching the winning post.

Havelock Keith underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right pencil muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr. Vinnie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a superficial abrasion to the left calf. No stand down period was imposed.

Agent Ben underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr D. Connor regarding the greyhounds performance over the concluding stages of the event. Mr Connor stated that this is Agent Ben's first start after a month off racing and first attempt at Healesville. Mr. Connor further stated that he believes the greyhound was not strong enough over the 350m at this time and he intends to return to Cranbourne 311m in the near future.

Usain Spolly – Late scratching at 6.08am when Trainer Ms J. Spoljaric reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Chill Out Isla – Late scratching at 7.44am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

My Names Chelsea and Parabellum collided soon after the start. Quara's Zade checked off Clark Road approaching the 200m mark. Quara's Zade eased from approaching the 100m mark to the winning post and subsequently tailed off. 

Quara's Zade underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 9. Quara's Zade was found to have an injury to the left pencil muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr B. Wellington regarding the greyhounds racing manners over the concluding stages. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Quara's Zade was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Wellington pleaded not guilty to the charge, Quara's Zade was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Crackerjack Baz - The frequency of racing was discussed with Trainer Mr G. Ithier, his comments were noted.

Concrete Fever faltered at the 150m mark, crossed to the rail and subsequently lost ground. Stolen Jewels crossed to the rail at the 50m mark.

Jensen regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Big Flash Marjen was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Jensen pleaded not guilty to the charge, Big Flash Marjen was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
