Steward's Report
Big Flash Marjen crossed to the outside approaching the 200m mark checking Small Rose. Big Flash Marjen turned its head to the inside approaching the winning post and crossed in.
Big Flash Marjen underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right quadriceps. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr D. Jensen regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Big Flash Marjen was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Jensen pleaded not guilty to the charge, Big Flash Marjen was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Found In Quartz - the winner of the event.
Meeting Comments:
Kenneth Howat was issued with a warning for bringing another greyhound on-course that was not engaged in the race meeting, without the permission of the Stewards - GAR 30.
