Ivy Wren, Zambora Lou, Bad Boy Barry and Kinloch Moss collided soon after the start; checking all four greyhounds. Ivy Wren and Zambora Lou collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Nitro Yap checked off Zambora Lou on the first turn. Zambora Lou, Bad Boy Barry and Kinloch Moss collided on the first turn; checking Zambora Lou, Kinloch Moss, Nitro Yap and Ivy Wren; severely checking Bad Boy Barry, which fell as a result. George's Fever raced wide on the home turn.
Bad Boy Barry underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
