Cryer's Spring checked off Love Heart soon after the start. Bowled Underarm, Weblec Whirl, Kraken Tex and Sisco Bella collided approaching the first turn; checking Bowled Underarm and Weblec Whirl. Weblec Whirl checked off Bowled Underarm on the first turn.
Weblec Whirl underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right foreleg muscle soreness. A three day stand down period was imposed.
