Steward's Report
A sample was taken from Fernandes upon arrival at the course.
Fernandes and Winlock Newbolt were slow to begin.
Zambora Clown and Kraken Lightning collided approaching the first turn. zambora Clown and Impending collided approaching the first turn. Impending galloped on Kraken Lightning on the first turn checking Kraken Lightning, Impending, Zambora Clown and Winlock Newbolt. Kraken Lightning and Impending collided approaching the second turn. Mahjong Nickel checked off Vanna Bale entering the back straight. Diamond Cartel and Winlock Newbolt collided on the third turn. Diamond Cartel eased approaching the home turn severely checking Winlock Newbolt.
Diamond Cartel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to the right hind achillies and right front foot, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Lindsay Fulford, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Diamond Cartel was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Fulford pleaded guilty to the charge, Diamond Cartel must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
