In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 35 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.4 degrees. 

Oriental Sugar – New declared weight of 24.7kg, last raced at 23.6kg.

Oriental Sugar was quick to begin. Mr. Black was slow to begin. Two Chips brushed the running rail approaching the first turn and lost ground as a result. Hillbilly Storm and Sylvia's Delight collided on the first turn. Hillbilly Storm and Sylvia's Delight collided approaching the home turn checking Hillbilly Storm. Sylvia's Delight and Two Chips raced wide in the home straight. Mr. Black and Sylvia's Delight collided approaching the winning post.
