Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Dundee Prince on 17 February 2020 pursuant to GAR 79A.
A sample was taken from What Price Bucks at the Trainer’s kennel earlier today.
Aerolithology – Late scratching at 12:22pm due to non-arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Kennel representative Mr N. Jenner informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on-route to the track. Stewards have advised Mr Jenner that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 48 hours of the occurrence that caused the non-arrival. The matter will be re-evaluated upon receipt of this evidence. Mr Jenner presented evidence of the break-down, Stewards lifted the penalty.
A sample was taken from Thug Rose upon arrival at the course.
What Price Bucks and Dundee Prince were quick to begin. Parumba Barcia and Italia Bella were slow to begin. Mt. View Wrap was very slow to begin (4 lengths).
Parumba Barcia checked off Wow Anna on the first turn checking Dundee Prince and Thug Rose. Parumba Barcia galloped on Wow Anna on the home turn checking both greyhounds.
Mt. View Wrap underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 7, no apparent injury could be detected.
Stewards spoke to Mr T. Whitford, the trainer of Mt. View Wrap regarding its performance in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Mt. View Wrap must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
