Steward's Report
Northern Emma stayed in the boxes at boxrise before trailling the field and taking no competitive part in the event.
Bang Bang Gal, Call Me Hank and Rapid Incline were slow to begin.
Irene Florence checked off Call Me Hank approaching the first turn. Bang Bang Gal checked off Rapid Incline approaching the first turn. Bang Bang Gal and Irene Florence collided on the first turn checking Bang Bang Gal. Call Me Hank checked off Rapid Incline on the first turn. Call Me Hank clipped the heels of Dyna Elk on the first turn. Dyna Elk contacted the running rail approaching the home turn.
Northern Emma was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury. Mr. T.Moore the representative of Northern Emma declined to have the greyhound revetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. T.Moore, the representative of the greyhound Northern Emma. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Northern Emma with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days Ballarat and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Dyna Elk was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J Collins, handler of Dyna Elk regarding the greyhound's performance this evening. Mr. Collins stated that the greyhound is still "learning" and has found some trouble in the race this evening.causing it to lose ground on several occassions. Stewards noted the explanation.
A sample was taken from Dyna Elk - unplaced in the event.
