Wenona Bale – New declared weight of 28.4kg, last raced at 26.9kg.
Mustered Courage was quick to begin. You Sunshine and Unknown Soldier collided soon after the start. Wenona Bale and Bella Patch collided approaching the first turn. Bella Patch and Dolce You Too collided on the first turn. Wenona Bale clipped the heels of Mustered Courage in the home straight. Unknown Warrior visibly eased in the home straight and collided with Mustered Courage.
Unknown Warrior underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a abrasion to the right fore toe and left fore paw, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Mr C.Stanton, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Unknown Warrior was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Stanton pleaded guilty to the charge, Unknown Warrior must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
